Q. Do I have to be a senior citizen to ride with Mountain Rides?

A. No. This service is available to ALL of our community members regardless of age, health or financial status.

Q. Do I have to live in the service area to ride?

A. No. We have fixed locations set up for those in the community who do not live in the service area. When you schedule a ride, you just need to tell them to pick you up at the fixed location of your choosing. Please see Home page for a list of Fixed Locations.

Q. Can my child ride with Mountain Rides?

A. Yes, a parent must ride with children up to age 12. (Please bring a car seat for infants and toddlers).
Children 13 - 17 can ride alone, but must have a parent receive them at the destination.

Q. How long before my appointment must I call to schedule?
A. Please allow Via Mobility Services 3-7 days before your appointment.

Q. If I see Mountain Rides out, can I get on at anytime?

A. No. You must be scheduled to ride. Please call in advance to secure your seat on the bus.

Q. If we are out on a scheduled event, can the driver stop for coffee?

A. Yes. As long as the driver does not have anything upcoming on her schedule, she can make quick stops.

Q. How many people can be on the bus at one time?
A. Our bus is a 12 passenger bus. So please make sure you schedule ahead of time, as there is limited seating.

Q. What if something comes up the same day, can I still get a ride?
A. It is possible that you can schedule a same day ride. Please contact Via Mobility Services for availability.

Q. Can I schedule Mountain Rides for other places besides the doctor?
A. Yes. All that we need is a drop off time and pick up time, and we can get you where you need to go.

Q. I am in a wheelchair. Can I ride with Mountain Rides?

A. Yes. Our bus is wheelchair accessible and our driver is trained to assist you.

Q. I decided at the last minute to cancel, but did not call. My driver showed up, and I told her I didn't want to go. Will this have any affect on my future rides?

A. Yes. Please contact Via Mobility Services to cancel any rides that are scheduled that are no longer needed. If our driver is coming to you, and you no longer need her, she is being taken away from another rider. Repeating this can result in suspension.

Q. Can my dog ride with Mountain Rides?

A. Yes. As long as your dog is leashed, and very well mannered, your dog can ride. It is at the sole discretion of the driver, that she may decline to accept any person/dog which she believes to be inherently unsafe for any reason.
